THIS IS WHO I AM, THIS IS WHAT I DO
Hi there! They say everyone should have an elevator pitch, but we’re not in an elevator so here we go… My name is Anjelica and I’m the owner of Anjelica Bannos Artistry. What’s that you ask? Well, I’m an on location, freelance makeup artist! After finishing college, I received my esthetics license in Illinois then studied at the world famous Makeup Designory in New York City. Being at this school opened my eyes to the many different aspects of this work and opportunities available in this industry. Taking in all that city has to offer, plus walking to class in Soho every day was a fantastic starting point for this world I’ve immersed myself in.
For the 9 years since then, I’ve worked on a wide variety of events ranging from bridal parties and boudoir shoots, to commercials, TV, and film production. The variety keeps life fresh and allows me to constantly be working with great people. Whether it’s a bride on one of the most important days of her life or being on set translating the specific vision of a client, I’m always excited to be part of the creative fold and watch it all come to life.
When I’m not painting faces, I’m first mate at Chill Yacht Charters helping my Captain husband Erich, run our other business organizing cruises on our boat in Chicago, which we also happen to live on. Anywhere near water is where I want to be which is also why we fly south to Florida during the frigid winter months. Whoever said being a snowbird is for retired people, certainly isn’t thinking outside the box. I also love to travel, yoga (I received my 200 hour teacher training certificate,) cooking new recipes, spending time with our adorable nieces and loud but wonderful family. We’re Greek + Italian so frankly the decibel levels run quite high. I’m a mix of calm, blissed out yogi and cussing sailor all wrapped into one. I joke a lot and like to enjoy life the best that I can. As Tim Ferris said, “what is the pot of gold that justifies spending the best years of your life hoping for happiness in the last.” The time is NOW so get out there and do the damn thing!
