+ THEN…

Hi there! They say everyone should have an elevator pitch, but we’re not in an elevator so here we go… My name is Anjelica Bannos and I’m an on location, freelance makeup artist. My work ranges from bridal, lifestyle & boudoir, commercials, TV, beauty & fashion, and film production. I love the variety of my work, it keeps life fresh and allows me to constantly be working with great people. Whether it’s a bride on one of the most important days of her life or being on set translating the specific vision of a client, I’m always excited to be part of the creative fold and watch it all come to life. I come from a long line of restaurateurs and have grown up in the industry, literally bussing tables at 5 years old. This not only taught me a great work ethic and introduced me to all walks of life, but also helped determine where my true passion lies. I took what I learned in the restaurant and applied this to the creative process of makeup. Each product is an essential ingredient, that when combined just right makes something savory and unforgettable. I get the same satisfaction during the makeup application as a chef would when creating a recipe for a great meal.
After completing my BS in Business Management from Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island, I received my Esthetics License at Pivot Point International in Chicago, then in 2010 studied Fashion Makeup Artistry at Makeup Designory in New York City. Being in this atmosphere is when everything clicked for me and I knew I was on the right path, starting my career as a professional makeup artist. When I’m not painting faces, I love to travel, practice yoga (I received my 200 hour teacher training certificate in 2014,) cook new recipes, spend time with our adorable nieces and loud but wonderful family (we’re Greek & Italian so frankly the decibel levels can run high.) I’m a mix of calm, blissed out yogi and cussing sailor all wrapped into one. I joke a lot and like to enjoy life the best that I can.  I also help my husband, Captain Erich operate our other business Chill Yacht Charters, organizing cruises on our boat in Chicago. Anywhere near water is where I want to be which is also why we fly south to Florida during the frigid winter months.  Whoever said being a snowbird is for retired people, certainly isn’t thinking outside the box. As Tim Ferris said, “What is the pot of gold that justifies spending the best years of your life hoping for happiness in the last?” The time is NOW so get out there and do the damn thing!
